When it comes to water parks in the Kissimmee area, Water Mania provides
some serious family fun! This family run park may not be as high profile
as some of it's well heeled neighbors but it's low key family oriented
approach has won it a lot of fans over the years. Don't interpret
that to mean a lack of thrills though because there are plenty of
those to go around. The Screamer is very aptly named at over 70 feet
tall. You can disappear down The Abyss, 400 feet of darkness, not
unlike being flushed down a large drain! Ride out Riptide, a swirling
tube ride. Float down Cruisin' Creek at a leisurely 2mph or spend
some time bobbing up and down in the wave pool. The family can stay
together to enjoy the curves of The Anaconda and the slippery Banana
Peel. The Rain Forest was purposely built for 'little squirts' so
they can have a heck of a time on the mini slides, water guns and
splash pools. The Rain Train is very popular with the younger set,
as is blows its stack on a continual basis! Older kids have their
own video arcade and also popular with the teen crowd is Wipe Out
- the park's big league surf ride. It's all about technique as you
try to ride the crest of a perpetual wave that will promptly toss
you out of the back door if you get it wrong (much to the delight
of the permanent crowd of onlookers!).
